<p>The Perioperative Surgical Director of Nursing will direct Perioperative Services in a 800-bed tertiary care facility. It will oversee 52 ORs to include all of the main ORs &amp; Outpatient Surgery, the 87-bed PACUs and Anesthesia Nursing Services. It will indirectly supervise approximately 350 FTEs and will have 2 Assistant Directors reporting to it. There are eight general surgery services including cardiac, lung, abdominal organ transplant; pediatric and adult trauma; and five subspecialties including Plastics (face and hand transplant), Orthopedics, Otolaryngology and Urology averaging in total 37, 000 cases per year This position is accountable for the quality of nursing care delivered, planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating the nursing service within a functional unit. In addition, the DON is responsible for fiscal management, development of short and long term goals for nursing service, management of nursing personnel, and providing nursing leadership in formulating and implementing functional unit objectives. BSN, MSN and Doctorate required. CNOR preferred. Advanced administrative skills at a level generally acquired through four to seven years of progressively responsible nursing administration experience.
