Reports to Corporate Vice President of PFS. Provides appropriate executive skills and leadership to lead and motivate all associates within Patient Access and PFS to optimize the collection of revenue, improve revenue management processes and implement new approaches to increase efficiency, productivity and revenue while improving the patient experience. Works closely with other revenue functional areas including reimbursement, payer negotiations and contracting, utilization management and coding. Manages vendor relationships for patient collections, bad debt management and other activities as needed. Identifies and implements leading practices, processes and technology necessary to achieve objectives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree, masters preferred; 6-10 years progressive experience in a large hospital or multi-hospital setting; HFMA Certification highly desired. Must demonstrate and ability to plan, coordinate, implement and control the Patient Access, Financial Counseling, Billing and Collection services to function effectively in a management position in a complex centralized environment. Must be able to lead implementation and process improvement projects with minimal supervision. Multi-hospital system experience highly desired along with IT system conversion familiarity. The Perioperative Surgical Director of Nursing will direct Perioperative Services in a 800-bed tertiary care facility. It will oversee 52 ORs to include all of the main ORs & Outpatient Surgery, the 87-bed PACUs and Anesthesia Nursing Services. It will indirectly supervise approximately 350 FTEs and will have 2 Assistant Directors reporting to it. There are eight general surgery services including cardiac, lung, abdominal organ transplant; pediatric and adult trauma; and five subspecialties including Plastics (face and hand transplant), Orthopedics, Otolaryngology and Urology averaging in total 37, 000 cases per year This position is accountable for the quality of nursing care delivered, planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating the nursing service within a functional unit. In addition, the DON is responsible for fiscal management, development of short and long term goals for nursing service, management of nursing personnel, and providing nursing leadership in formulating and implementing functional unit objectives. BSN, MSN and Doctorate required. CNOR preferred. Advanced administrative skills at a level generally acquired through four to seven years of progressively responsible nursing administration experience. Must have prior experience in a tertiary care hospital. Salary $150,000 – $180,000

• Registered as Specialist in Clinical Pathology with a masters degree or equivalent from a recognised institution; preferably with an advanced degree in healthcare or business administration.

• Responsible for the overall operation, leadership, direction, and administration of the laboratories and sites including the employment of qualified and competent staff and for setting up standards and processes to ensure compliance with the applicable regulations.
• Establish, direct, supervise and lead the laboratory management, administrative and clinical team to carry out medical laboratory function for all units
• Participate in the development and implementation of operations budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.

• Develop the core lab as a well renowned reference laboratory in the region with an extensive test menu that is in line with the companies’ growth and market demands.
• Monitor utilization patterns of lab services and advise the management and other appropriate staff of developing trends in clinical service needs.
• Ensure quality standards are kept at the highest level and all accreditations for laboratory are achieved and maintained. Ensure that the test methodologies selected have the capability of providing the quality of results required for patient care; verification procedures used are adequate to determine the accuracy, precision and other pertinent performance characteristics of the method; and laboratory personnel are performing the test methods as required for accurate and reliable results.
• Write and revise policies, procedures, and protocols for tests carried out in the laboratory according to prescribed format and international standards.
• Ensure that the environment conditions of the laboratory are appropriate for the testing performed and provide a safe environment in which employees are protected from physical, chemical and biological hazards
• Establish operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete on-time delivery.
• Ensure that the quality control and quality assurance programs are established and maintained to assure the quality of laboratory services provided and to identify failures in quality as they occur.
• Ensure the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test system.
• Ensure that all necessary remedial actions are taken and documented whenever significant deviations from the laboratory’s established performance specifications are identified and that patient test results are reported only when the system is functioning properly.
• Ensure that consultation is available to the laboratory’s clients on matters relating to the quality of the test results reported and their interpretation concerning specific patient conditions.
• Organise the Continuous Medical Education (CME) programs for laboratory technologists in coordination with the Clinical Consultant.

Scope: Oversee the design and development of both global and satellite center-specific health education resources and staff to improve the education and adoption of healthy living within the U.A.E Armed Forces

Duties

• Develop and manage the implementation of the HSMC sport science strategy
• Develop scientific best practice with respect to physical training and testing programs, and deliver these at all training establishments
• In coordination with the Sport Science staff, quality assure physical training lessons using technology to ensure lessons provide adequate stimulus to improve health, fitness and performance
• Develop appropriate policy for long term tracking of body size at each training establishment, and implement this with the help of relevant physical training staff
• Develop appropriate training policy for exercising in the heat, and monitor the implementation of the GHQ-endorsed guidelines
• Analyze all performance data collected at the satellites and complete necessary reports
• Assist in the design and delivery of relevant health education

Requirement

Minimum 8 years post-qualification relevant work experience – including management experience.

Postgraduate qualified in physical education or a related field (minimum of Masters).

Military (or uniformed staff) experience beneficial.
