Job Description

Our client is a 365 bed military hospital in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The hospital provides medical services to the members of the UAE Armed Forces and their families. The hospital holds JCI accreditation and provides tertiary care medical services with the most modern equipment.

 

The hospital is seeking a Medical Director

 

Key Reponsibilities

 

  1. Leads the organization's clinical staff and serves as a role model for professional excellence.
  2. Advises the corporate team to heal shale and agree the strategic and operational plans for the organization
  3. Advises on the organization and structure of medical services
  4. Leads in the development, approval, authorization and implementation of agreed clinical policies and procedures
  5. Leads in the development, review and implementation of the hospital's performance management system, including the peer review and productivity and utilization review processes
  6. Participates with the corporate team in budget planning and other financial management responsibilities as required
  7. Assumes responsibility for establishing a clear system of communication with the medical workforce throughout the organization
  8. Attends all relevant corporate meetings and meets regularly with the department heads.
  9. Leads on medical workforce planning for the organization
  10. Leads in the appointment of Department Chairs and Division Chiefs and assists in the appointment of other members of the corporate team as required
  11. Fosters relationships with fellow medical leaders, academics and clinicians and supports Department Head and Division Chiefs in championing the collaboration of research and exchange of ideas for best practice, helping to build the organization's reputation for clinical excellence
  12. Supports initiatives for collecting information on patient satisfaction across the hospital and uses the information to assist with strategic and operational planning
  13. Delegate's responsibilities to the Deputy Medical Officer and other staff members as required
  14. Assumes additional administrative duties as requested by the corporate team.
  15. Works with nursing leadership and other clinical leaders across the organization to promote clinical excellence and ensure good patient outcomes.

Education

 

Fosters a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement by:

  1. Promoting instruction, guidance and supervision of junior medical staff (i.e. Specialists, Medical Practitioners, Interns, medical students)
  2. Supporting medical staff in efforts to comply with Continued Medical Education (CME) requirements as per guidelines and actively promoting postgraduate education and other educational training opportunities, locally, regionally and internationally
  3. Keeping abreast of the current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry
  4. Promotes participation in clinical research across the organization. Actively encourages medical staff to publish.
  5. Assists with the organizations process for approving medical research projects carried out within the organization as requested

 

Requirements

Candidate should be a Board Certified Physician in the United States and have a minimum of five years experience as Medical Director in a similar size hospital.

Arabic Knowledge desired but not required.

 

Compensation

The hospital offers a very attractive benefit package of US$ 500,000 + comprising potential tax free salary, housing, generous leave and other benefits.
