Essential Duties:
•Work contracted shifts as scheduled.
•Examine patients for appropriate medical treatment. Diagnose physical disorders and recommend treatment such as prescribing medicine or referring to a specialist.
•Physician complies with expected completion standards regarding charting and lab follow up.
•Responds in accordance with accepted standards to coder inquiries regarding documentation.
•Delivers high quality customer service and patient care standards.
•Provides patient education as per department policy.
•Complies with all department and organizational policies and procedures.
•Complies with all regulatory standards (i.e. EMTALA).
•Perform procedures as per policy.
•Provide in-service training on medical issues as requested.
•Reviews medical records, physical assessments, diagnostic reports and all nursing orders in accordance with policy.
Qualifications
Education:
•Medical Degree from an accredited medical school is required.
•Must have successfully completed a residency program.
Experience:
•Two-plus years of experience in field of practice is preferred.
License/Certification:
•Must be board certified and currently possess a non-restricted license in this state.
•Must possess current, valid federal and state narcotics certificates.
•Current BLS certification required.
